About this wine
BEAULIEU VINEYARD Private Reserve Georges de La Tour Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa
Beaulieu Vineyard Private Reserve Georges de La Tour Cabernet Sauvignon is an iconic Napa Valley wine, widely regarded as a benchmark for California Cabernet since its first release in 1940. Sourced primarily from the historic Rutherford vineyards, the wine is crafted from a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small proportion of Petit Verdot.
The wine is celebrated for its deep ruby color, complex aromas of blackcurrant, plum, lilac, licorice, and tobacco, and a palate that is both powerful and refined, with monumental concentration, well-knit tannins, and a polished, persistent finish. The wine typically undergoes fermentation in stainless steel and concrete to preserve fruit purity, followed by aging for 20 months in French oak barrels (95% new), enhancing its structure and age-worthiness.

Expert Review
James Suckling
Blackberry, blackcurrant and mint with some sage and crushed-stone undertones. Full-bodied with chewy tannins that are in-check and nicely polished. Smoke, toasted oak and bark at the end, complementing the fresh yet ripe fruit. Drink after 2024.
