ABOUT THE WINERY
Pol Roger
Established in 1849, Pol Roger is a prestigious family owned Champagne house based in Epernay. It is one of the oldest and most highly regarded Champagne houses . Winston Churchill was known to drink a pint of Pol Roger Champagne a day for his health and famously quoted "In victory, deserve it. In defeat, need it!” In 1975 the house released its prestige vintage cuvée Sir Winston Churchill in his honour. Pol Roger also produces three non-vintage cuvées, the Pure Brut (no added sugar), Brut Réserve and Rich (sweet) and three vintage wines, the Brut Vintage, Blanc de Blanc and Rosé Vintage. The house currently has 210 ha of vineyards throughout the region with almost 90% Grand or Premier Cru status. Pol Roger also employs contract growers to supply fruit for their increasing export markets.
