Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
La Tâche is a Grand Cru monopole of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, with just over 6 hectares under vine, entirely owned and farmed by the Domaine. Planted to Pinot Noir and biodynamically managed since the late 1980s, this vineyard is situated on a mid-slope with a mix of limestone, clay, and iron-rich soils that define its structure and longevity. Fermentation takes place in open wooden vats using wild yeasts, with gentle extraction. The wine is matured in 100% new oak sourced from central France, although the élevage is carefully managed to preserve the site’s character.
Each vintage carries the vineyard’s signature blend of dark cherry, spice, and floral notes, with a tannic backbone that supports extended ageing. There’s always a firm line of minerality and a quiet depth that unfolds slowly over time. La Tâche is produced in limited quantities and is highly regarded by collectors worldwide.
