About this wine
Grand Cru Rosacker is arguably the world’s greatest Riesling vineyard, and the Trimbach Riesling bearing its fruit is one of the great expressions of this wine worldwide. Vines are all over 50 years of age. Known as Clos Sainte Hune, the wine is made with cool, slow fermentation, allowing for pure fruit expression. Clear, deep and mineral on the nose, it is rich and pure on the palate. Full bodied and juicy, with an incredibly long finish. Ageing will make it even more extraordinary.
Founded in 1626 by Jean Trimbach, Trimbach arguably produces some of the world’s finest wines from its Grand Cru vineyards.

Jancis Robinson MW
Mid-gold. Mature dry Riesling aromas. Very broad and smoky on the palate. Extremely long and rich, though bone dry overall. Obviously great quality. I thought it was older. 18/20 points, jancisrobinson.com (1/2017).
Old gold, medium depth. Very fresh on the nose with some zesty citrus fruit notes and the cool breeze of a mountain stream. On the palate the 2001 shows a very generous texture, softening the traditional expression of austerity. Although technically it is as dry as any of its siblings, the lower acidity and higher extract of a warm vintage make this a reasonably approachable wine even at a relatively early stage. Nut kernel, almonds and a smidgeon of citrus fruit and peel have plenty of opportunity to exhibit harmonious interaction on a long finish. A cool minerality is more than an afterthought. 18.5/20 points, Michael Schmidt, jancisrobinson.com (11/2014).

This is a dense and rich wine with incredible depth and ripeness. Full-bodied and open with layers of dried, ripe fruit. It goes on for minutes on the finish. It's minerally, salty and fabulous. Still holding on. 100 points, jamessuckling.com (9/2015)

Rich and inviting, with complex smoke, apple, peach, lemon and mineral flavors. Has great intensity on the palate and a smooth texture that melds with the vibrant structure. The finish is long and detailed. 94 points, Bruce Sanderson (10/2006).
