Domaine Prieure Roch Nuits 1er cru, Nuits-St-Georges

Domaine Prieuré Roch was founded by Henri Roch of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and is committed to whole-bunch fermentation, biodynamics, and minimal intervention. The domaine’s holdings in Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les Argillières and Clos des Corvées are cultivated without synthetic treatments and harvested at full ripeness. Fermentation occurs in open wooden vats, utilising native yeasts, with no destemming. The wines are aged in oak without sulphur additions during élevage.

These wines challenge expectations of Nuits-St-Georges. They offer lifted aromatics in red berries, florals, and undergrowth, underpinned by firm but fine tannins. The structure is present but never imposed, allowing the vineyard to speak clearly. Les Argillières leans toward energy and finesse, while Clos des Corvées brings a deeper, more layered expression.

Made in small quantities and rarely seen in Australia, these wines are sought after for their individuality, provenance, and the reputation of one of Burgundy’s most uncompromising domaines.
