Pichon Baron's dramatic chai — all angles and glass — announces a wine of equal ambition. Across from Latour and adjacent to Pichon-Comtesse, it produces a Pauillac of serious structure and concentration, with the appellation's characteristic blackcurrant intensity and cedar backbone. AXA Millésimes' investment has steadily elevated it toward the top of the Second Growth tier. In the best vintages it is a wine of genuine First Growth complexity at a fraction of the price.
