Chris Ringland Dry Grown Barossa Ranges Shiraz
Chris Ringland's Dry Grown Barossa Ranges Shiraz, once known as Three Rivers, stands as a contemporary Barossa marvel, embodying the region's essence, early 20th-century vines, Australian innovation, and modern winemaking. Established by Thomas Randall in 1910, the northeast-facing vineyard, now under Ringland's care since 1994, underwent gradual restoration. Its shallow, granitic sandy loam soils yield dry-grown, ungrafted, low-yielding vines, producing unusually thick-skinned Shiraz. With a mere 1.5-hectare size, this site crafts deeply hued, intensely concentrated, tannin-laden fruit, showcasing pre-phylloxera vines' enduring quality alongside quintessential Barossan richness.
