Upper Goulburn is found in Victoria’s high country between the Great Dividing Range and the Strathbogie Ranges. This is a high altitude region that provides good aspects, cool nights and high sunlight hours, excellent for ripening and retention of both aromatics and acidity. The small-scale wineries and vineyards in the region are mainly family-owned with many viticulturists adopting a philosophy of sustainable viticulture. The region is suited to Spainrkling wines, aromatic whites, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
