Chris Ringland is a passionate proponent of Barossa Shiraz. He is very much a scion of Robert O'Callaghan's 'Rockford School' . “Meticulous order, accumulation of experience and creativity” are the essence of Chris Ringland’s brand of winemaking. Formerly a winemaker at Rockford, Chris Ringland first purchased his own property in 1994 taking over a decade to carefully restore his old-vine Shiraz vineyard. His flagship wine Chris Ringland Shiraz is sourced from his estate dry-grown vineyard planted in 1910 on the edge of the Barossa Valley, but technically in Eden Valley along Flaxman’s Valley near Randall's Hill. Ringland believes his century-old vines yield Shiraz of unique lushness, tremendous concentration and unusually thick skins. Alongside his flagship, Chris Ringland now produces a range of premium Shiraz wines including CR, Dimchurch, and Hoffmann.
