DOMAINE ROULOT, Meursault

Domaine Roulot, Meursault

Jean-Marc Roulot has, almost single-handedly, reframed the conversation around what village-level Meursault can achieve. Eschewing the heavy oak and buttery excess that once defined the appellation, his wines are precise, mineral and arrestingly complex. The village wine is, in the best vintages, as compelling as many premiers crus from lesser hands. Roulot's Meursault is now among Burgundy's most sought-after bottles — and one of the clearest arguments that appellation matters far less than producer.
