DOMAINE JACQUES-FREDERIC MUGNIER Grand Cru, Musigny

Domaine Jacques-Frederic Mugnier Grand Cru, Musigny

The other great Musigny. Mugnier's 1.13-hectare holding in the grand cru produces a wine of transcendent elegance — silky, perfumed and almost impossibly refined. Where Roumier's version is intensity and concentration, Mugnier's is gossamer precision. Both are canonical. The domaine, restored to its former glory by Frédéric Mugnier from the 1980s, is now considered one of Burgundy's great estates. Availability is as limited as the reputation demands.
