Lake’s Folly White Label Cabernet Blend

The highly individual, expressive and important Lake’s Folly Cabernet Blend comes from Australia’s original boutique winery, founded by food scientist Max Lake. Deriving from vines planted in volcanic, ferrous alluvial soils, the wine is open fermented and then aged in a combination of new and three-year-old French oak barrels for 12 months. The blend of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, merlot, and petit verdot is an elegant, perfumed, distinguished mid-weighted style, redolent with violet, blackcurrant, typical Hunter terracotta and earthy characters, neatly compressed by fine-grained tannins and underlying savoury oak. The track record is one of prodigious ageability.
