Torbreck The Steading

Torbreck The Steading

Torbreck’s maker, Ian Hongell, considers The Steading the heart and soul of Torbreck’s lustrous range of powerful, full-bodied wines. The fruit is drawn from old vines held by a legion of growers, complemented by Torbreck’s own fruit. The Steading is a mantle, if you will, of sustenance, local rapport and Barossan culture. A quintessential grenache-dominant lead laden with kirsch and white pepper, is bolstered by shiraz’s florals and mataro’s ferruginous burr and charcuterie accents, each serving as complex backing vocals. The Steading’s track record is unsurpassed amidst the pantheon of GSM blends, as typically southern Rhône as they have become Barossan. After all, a blend as classy as this transcends the mere sum of its individual parts to unravel in the cellar with consummate grace.
