Woodlands Family Series Cabernet Sauvignon

Woodlands Family Series Cabernet Sauvignon

The exquisite estate-grown Woodlands Family Series Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced primarily from dry-grown 1973, 1974, 1976 and 1985 south-facing plantings at Wilyabrup. Named the Family Series because each vintage honours a family member or friend, the name changes on the wine label each release. Batch vinification occurs in stainless steel fermenters and small parcels of malbec optimise fruit complexity. Typically it shows cassis, sage, Karri bush and red fruit notes. The cedar aromas reflect the fine-grained oak tannins that curtail any excess while compressing the finish into a skein of tension and savouriness.

About Woodlands

Founded in 1973 by David and Heather Watson, Woodlands, among Margaret River's first vineyards, expanded to 10 hectares from its original 8-acre plot sourced from Moss Wood. Stuart Watson, the full-time winemaker since 2002, employs an intuitive, hands-off approach, praised for the acclaimed Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.
