Expert Review
Ned Goodwin MW
An intriguing makeup of 60% Murrumbateman, 30% Vale & 10% Pyrenees. Some warmer climatic material infuses a plump polish over Neal’s overall predilection for firm, savoury tannins. Oodles of dark cherry smeared with olive and doused in white pepper grind. Brooding and sense. Long by virtue of its heady personality.
93 points, Ned Goodwin MW.

Jeni Port
A different shade of Shiraz here with a multi-regional blend of fruit sourced from Murrumbateman, McLaren Vale and Pyrenees. The rich, expressive entry to the wine grabs your attention. Shades of ripe blueberry, raspberry, pomegranate, vanilla, spice – plenty of spice – and so lifted. The dial turns up a notch or three on the palate, building in layers of flavour and depth, velvety and intense. Retains Murrumbateman’s fluid drive, all red fruited with a touch of spice. The lingering wild bush, peppery and exotic notes come courtesy of the Pyrenees, with McLaren Vale plushness throughout. Oak is there, never prominent. Tannins are beautifully crafted, contributing to the effortless flow of the wine. Fidelis explores a lot of territory, filling every crevice and nook with amazing, sustained flavour.

Huon Hooke
Deep, dark and bright colour with purple tints and a complex, brooding bouquet of darker fruits and browned spices, a layering of toasty meaty umami complexities , the palate medium-full bodied and rich, with superbly glossy texture and fine-grained tannins. The finish is tremendously long and warming, as well as refreshing. And elegant—with all that concentration. A most impressive young shiraz. (Winemaker: Doug Neal)
