ARGIANO, Brunello di Montalcino 2010 Bottle
About this wine
Argiano, Brunello di Montalcino
Typically the nose is complex yet clean, full yet fresh. Very typical notes of red fruit mixed and aromatic herbs and spices. The palate steps it up with savoury sophistication, broad mouthfeel and silky tannins and a long, fresh finish.
The 100% Sangiovese fruit is sourced from vineyards with vines up north of 50 years old marl, ancient clay with high-level limestone 280 to 310 metres above sea level.
The harvest is cold-soaked prior to fermentation to extract colour and aromatics. Spontaneous fermentation over the course of two weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation occurred naturally in cement tanks.
Ageing of about 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels of different capacities (10/15/30/50 hectolitres). Bottling occurred in April/May during the most favourable moon phases. Long ageing in bottle.
