Located at the opening of the Combe de Lavaux, this premier cru vineyard benefits from cool breezes that preserve natural acidity. Sourced from vines averaging 70 years in age, Arnaud Mortet farms this parcel with the same exacting standards established by his father, Denis.
In the cellar, Mortet uses partial whole-bunch fermentation, laboriously removing central stems by hand while leaving individual berry stalks intact to control extraction. Maturation takes place in French oak over 18 months, hand-selecting a restrained proportion of new wood to emphasise fruit purity.
The nose delivers dark cherry, wild strawberry, violet and liquorice. On the palate, concentrated red fruit flavours align with silky tannins and a strong limestone mineral backbone, ensuring immediate presence and reliable cellaring longevity.
