Brendon Keys is not one to follow the herd. For this non-vintage release, he sources fruit from the Springs Hill vineyard in Blewitt Springs, a site prized for its deep sands and ancient geology. The blend of Mourvèdre, Shiraz, and Grenache (MSG) is a deliberate nod to traditional Southern Rhône blends, but with a distinct McLaren Vale clarity. Keys focuses on the site's raw potential rather than imposing a heavy-handed house style.

The winemaking remains minimalist and thoughtful. The fruit is fermented in small batches with varying degrees of whole-bunch inclusion to build structural layers. Maturation takes place in seasoned French oak puncheons, ensuring the timber supports rather than smothers the fruit. By blending across vintages, Keys achieves a consistent profile that balances the brightness of younger components with the developed complexity of older reserve stocks.

Expect a nose of dried herbs, black peppercorn, and dark cherries. The palate is medium-bodied and precise, showing plum and earthy spice held together by fine, sandy tannins.
