Cathiard Vineyard in Napa Valley is the first California venture of Florence and Daniel Cathiard, renowned owners of Château Smith Haut Lafitte in Bordeaux. Located on Zinfandel Lane in St. Helena, the estate spans both the Rutherford and St. Helena AVAs, with a rich history dating back to 1885 when Scottish brothers James and William Rennie built the original stone gravity-flow winery and planted 60 acres of vineyards. The property later belonged to Napa pioneer Louis M. Martini before being revitalized by the Cathiard family, who have brought a distinct French influence and a commitment to organic and sustainable viticulture. Cathiard Vineyard’s portfolio is anchored by their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, produced from the estate’s oldest hillside vines.
