CHARLES HEIDSIECK Blanc de Blancs, Champagne NV Bottle
About this wine
Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs, Champagne
Charles Heidsieck was a pioneer in pure Chardonnay Champagne, releasing its first Blanc de Blancs in 1949. Sourced from premier and grand cru sites across the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and Montgueux, this cuvée offers a textural alternative to leaner regional styles.
Primary fermentation occurs in stainless steel, alongside a small fraction in old oak barrels to build body. The house incorporates roughly 25% aged reserve wines into the blend and insists on three to four years of cellaring in their ancient chalk pits before disgorgement.
The nose opens with white peach, candied citrus blossom and toasted hazelnut. On the palate, taut lime and green apple give way to a silky, creamy mousse, finishing with crisp minerality and subtle salinity.
