Nestled on the limestone slopes of Saint-Émilion, Château de Ferrand is a historic estate with over three centuries of uninterrupted winemaking. The 32-hectare vineyard is planted predominantly with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. The soils—rich in clay and limestone—give the wine its distinct freshness and minerality, while the estate’s commitment to organic farming ensures purity in every bottle.
Winemaking at Ferrand is meticulous. Grapes are harvested by hand and vinified plot by plot in temperature-controlled cement vats. The wine matures for twelve months in French oak barrels, with a judicious use of new oak to preserve the fruit’s vibrancy and the terroir’s character. Recent years have seen a portion of the wine aged in neutral amphora, further enhancing elegance and precision.
