About this wine
CHATEAU MUSAR Cuvee Rouge, Lebanon
Chateau Musar was founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar. Located at an altitude of over 3,000 feet in the Bekaa Valley, the vines are sheltered by the surrounding mountains running parallel to the Mediterranean. In 1959, after studying oenology at the University of Bordeaux, his son Serge became winemaker. During the civil war Serge refused to abandon the winery. Owing to his inspiring determination and passion, Serge received the inaugural "Man of the Year Award" from Decanter in 1984. Musar Cuvee Red is predominantly made from Cinsault with Carignan, Cabernet and some hints of Syrah. Not aged in oak and always bottled during the first year following the harvest, the Cuvee Rouge is a smooth, aromatic, richly-textured and refreshing red.
