About this wine
CHERUBINO Caves Road Chardonnay, Margaret River
Cherubino Caves Road Chardonnay from Margaret River is a premium white wine that showcases the region's exceptional terroir. This elegant Chardonnay offers a pale straw color and enticing aromas of roasted nuts, peach, and sweet citrus blossom, complemented by complex oak spices. On the palate, it delivers vibrant flavors of citrus and mineral salts, balanced by a fine, long acidity. The wine is crafted using hand-picked fruit, whole-bunch pressed directly into French oak barrels, with only 10% undergoing full malolactic fermentation. This meticulous winemaking process results in a focused, powerful, and creamy wine with multi-layered complexity, featuring notes of spice, nuts, stone fruit, and green apple. The Cherubino Caves Road Chardonnay exemplifies the high-quality wines produced by Larry Cherubino, a respected winemaker known for his expertise and passion for crafting exceptional wines in the Margaret River region.

Expert Review
Ray Jordan
The fruit for this wonderful chardonnay was sourced from vineyards at the Wallcliffe, Wilyabrup and Karridale along the most famous road in the region. After handpicking the fruit was pressed straight to new and used oak for fermentation and subsequent maturation for 10 months, So there is texture and palate richness here, but there is also a fine minerality and linear mouth feel that gives it focus and precision through a long palate. Slightly toasty subtle grapefruit and cashew characters with a chalky limestone acidity to finish. Damn fine.
