The first wine up in this pack, five bottles of Clarendon Hills Sandown Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, stands out due to its exceptional provenance from a historic 1935 west-facing vineyard in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. This is a refined, elegant wine that captures the nuanced character of its single vineyard origin, showcasing power and sophistication through its carefully preserved fruit and structural integrity. It's just entered it's peak drinking window, primed for the next ten years.
The second wine is the ethereal, top tier Château Montrose, one of the leading wine properties of the Saint-Estèphe. Described by William Kelley as a, 'a brilliant achievement', this Grand Vin is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, very powerful and austere in its youth, with a backbone of firm tannins that provides exceptional longevity.
Last, but not least, is the twin pack of Riedel Veloce Cabernet glasses. This is perfect for full-bodied, complex red wines that are high in tannin like the two wines on offer in this pack.
