About this wine

A festive season without a bottle of Coates Sparkling Shiraz on the table? It’s un-Australian! Coates La Petite Cuvée is a deserved icon of the Australian festive season, and is an accessible entrance to the genre.

Predominantly Shiraz, this wine also includes small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Touriga Nacional to add complexity and depth. Redolent with aroma of Christmas spice, dark plum, anise, and a deep, satisfying toasty character, this wine is fit for Christmas feasting and enjoyment.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Coates Wines
Owner winemaker Duane Coates is based in McLaren Vale and sources premium fruit from such quality regions as Langhorne Creek, Adelaide Hills and the Clare Valley to produce a wide range of styles. He selects parcels of fruit from the traditional varieties of the region through to newer alternative varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Sangiovese. He also makes a range fortified styles and a classic sparkling Shiraz. His wines are handcrafted in an Old World savoury style; due to time he spent making wine in Burgundy and the Rhone Valley, France. He also spent time learning the craft of fortified wine production in the Douro Valley, Portugal.
