DOMAINE BRUNO CLAIR Grand Cru, Chambertin-Clos de Beze 2021 Bottle
About this wine
Domaine Bruno Clair Chambertin-Clos de Beze
Domaine Bruno Clair holds a prized 0.98-hectare parcel within Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Burgundy's oldest recorded Grand Cru vineyard. Planted across well-drained, limestone-rich soils, these old vines yield fruit of exceptional power and refinement. Bruno Clair and winemaker Philippe Brun focus on minimal intervention, fermenting with a high proportion of whole bunches to preserve purity and structure. The wine matures in French oak barrels, typically 20 to 50 per cent new, letting the terroir lead.
The nose consistently reveals dark cherry, wild strawberry, graphite, and crushed rose petals, underpinned by a subtle earthy spice. On the palate, expect a dense core of dark red fruit wrapped in fine, architectural tannins and balanced by vibrant natural acidity.
This is a Grand Cru of immense depth and longevity, offering collectors a classic expression of Gevrey-Chambertin that rewards patience in the cellar.
