Sitting directly above the prestigious Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares, Les Véroilles is a uniquely positioned site in Chambolle-Musigny. Bruno Clair reclaimed and replanted this steep, high-elevation parcel in the late 1980s. The site features thin limestone soil, which naturally tempers the power of the neighbouring Grand Cru into a precise expression of Pinot Noir.
In the winery, Clair and long-time winemaker Philippe Brun focus on minimal intervention. They use a portion of whole bunches during fermentation to enhance structure and aromatic lift. The wine matures for up to 20 months in French oak barrels, with a light hand on new wood (around 20%) to preserve the pure fruit profile.
The result is classic Chambolle-Musigny defined by perfume and detail. Aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, rose petal, and crushed limestone give way to a silken palate. Expect fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and an enduring finish.
