Domaine du Château de Meursault manages some of the most coveted real estate in the Côte de Beaune. The Charmes Dessus parcel sits in the upper, more prestigious section of the Charmes vineyard, bordering Les Perrières. Here, thin limestone soils and high elevation produce a wine of greater tension and mineral focus than the broader, heavier styles often associated with the lower slopes.

In the cellar, the fruit undergoes slow fermentation in French oak barrels. The wine matures for 15 to 18 months in a combination of new and one-year-old oak, stored in the estate’s expansive 12th-century cellars. This prolonged, cool ageing allows the structural components to integrate, resulting in a 1er Cru with significant cellaring potential and a hallmark oily texture.

The nose delivers white flowers, lemon curd, and a distinct flinty note. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet disciplined, showing layers of ripe stone fruit and toasted almond. It maintains a sharp line of acidity through a long, dry finish. This is a benchmark Meursault that prioritises precision over weight.
