Domaine De La Romanee-Conti Grand Cru, Corton

Domaine de la Romanée Conti produced its inaugural vintage from this esteemed hillside in 2009 upon purchasing much of the now defunct Prince de Mérode’s better holdings. DRC’s presence has served to revive interest in a cru known for plump, round, upfront red and blue fruit-accented wines when young, albeit, serious potential for cellaring to boot, when they often unravel into incantations of spice and exotica. DRC’s holdings incorporate the lieu dits of ‘les Bressandes’, ‘le Clos du Roi’ and ‘les Renardes’, all premier sites on the vast hill.
