About this wine

Domaine de Montille Saint Christophe, Meursault

Domaine de Montille’s Saint Christophe is sourced from two distinct mid-hillside climates in Meursault: Casse-Têtes and Petits Charrons. The lean, mineral profile of the former balances the broader, more generous character of the latter. Biodynamic farming practices since 2005 ensure the character of this site is preserved.

In the cellar, winemakers utilise large-format and standard 228-litre French oak barrels, limiting new oak to under 20% to prevent any masking of fruit purity. After twelve months in a barrel, the wine is transferred to stainless steel vats for further ageing. This technique retains freshness and focuses the regional structure.

Every vintage delivers aromas of citrus, white peach and toasted hazelnuts. The palate offers concentrated stone fruit flavours, integrated acidity and a chalky, saline finish. It provides the signature weight of Meursault alongside a clean, precise structure that ensures cellar longevity.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Domaine de Montille
Domaine de Montille is a top Côte de Beaune domaine renowned for producing some of the purest, most elegant and harmonious expressions of Pinot Noir to be found in Burgundy. Established in Volnay in 1951 by Hubert de Montille, the majority of production was sold in bulk to négociants for many years. Over time the domaine acquired additional parcels in Volnay and Pommard with more recent purchases in Corton, Beaune and Vosne Romanee. Today the domaine is run by Hubert’s son Etienne, who adheres to a traditional winemaking philosophy. Built to age, the wines take at least five years to begin showing their full potential.
