Domaine du Chateau Meursault Clos du Chateau, Bourgogne Blanc

Domaine du Château de Meursault holds a unique position in Burgundy, with a history stretching back to the 11th century. The Clos du Château is an eight-hectare parcel situated directly in front of the castle. While classified as Bourgogne Blanc, the vineyard's proximity to prestigious village-level sites and its enclosure within stone walls provide a microclimate that yields fruit of exceptional concentration and consistency.

In the cellar, the fruit is sorted by hand and pressed gently to retain clarity. Fermentation and ageing take place in French oak barrels, with approximately 25% new wood used to support the fruit without masking its character. The wine rests on its lees for 12 to 15 months, a technique that builds the weight and texture expected from this historic estate.

The nose is defined by white peach, citrus zest, and a hint of toasted hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is precise and medium-bodied, balancing a creamy mouthfeel with a clean, mineral drive. It offers the structural hallmarks of Meursault at a more accessible price point, making it a reliable staple for the cellar.
