DOMAINE DUJAC, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2019 Bottle
About this wine
Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Domaine Dujac’s Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is the estate’s flagship, drawn from parcels first acquired by Jacques Seysses in 1968. Today, his son Jeremy continues the same approach: organic farming, whole-bunch fermentation, and élevage in French oak, with a careful use of new barrels. The vineyard lies on shallow soils over hard limestone, which gives the wine its firm backbone and ability to age.
Clos de la Roche is always the most structured of the domaine’s reds. The nose shows dark cherry, black fruit, dried herbs and earth. The palate is deep and compact in youth, with firm tannins and minerality. With time, it opens to reveal more aromatic complexity and finesse. It’s a wine for cellaring and one of the most sought-after Grand Crus in Morey-Saint-Denis. Collectors look to Dujac’s Clos de la Roche for its track record, pedigree and clear sense of place.
