About this wine

Domaine Faiveley 1er Cru Champ Gain, Puligny-Montrachet

Domaine Faiveley's Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain sits high on the slope above the village, where thin soils over limestone produce wines of precision and quiet authority. The site faces east, catching early sunlight and preserving freshness through the day. Winemaking is guided by Erwan Faiveley and technical director Jérôme Flous, who seek purity of site expression over embellishment. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, with around one-third new, followed by ageing on lees for over a year to build texture and balance. Each vintage shows a measured tension between fruit and structure. Expect aromas of white stone fruit, citrus and hazelnut, with a mineral thread and gentle oak influence. The palate is layered yet taut, carrying a fine line of acidity through to a long, clean finish. A classic Puligny that rewards time in bottle and thoughtful pairing at the table.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Domaine Faiveley
Domaine Faiveley is a family wine producer and négociant in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Established by Pierre Faiveley in 1825, initially as a wine merchant, today Faiveley produces their own wines and is also négociants buying wine and fruit from other producers and growers. The domaine is run by 7th generation Erwan Faiveley and the estate now owns 120 ha of vineyards throughout Burgundy. They have 10 ha of Grand Cru vineyard parcels including Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Clos de Vougeot, and Echezeaux among others. Many parcels are less than 1 ha yielding only tiny quantities of wines. Domaine Faiveley also has 25 ha of Premier Cru vineyards spread through the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.
