About this wine

Domaine Faiveley Grand Cru, Chambertin-Clos de Beze

Domaine Faiveley's Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is drawn from one of Burgundy's most historic vineyards, first planted by monks in the 7th century. Faiveley's parcel sits on thin, stony soils that give naturally concentrated fruit. The domaine's meticulous approach combines whole-bunch fermentation, gentle extraction, and élevage in fine-grained French oak, with around two-thirds of the barrels new each year.

Every vintage shows the vineyard's precision and power. The nose typically opens with dark cherry, blackberry and earth, building to notes of spice and violets as the wine breathes. The palate is structured yet supple, layered with ripe fruit and mineral tension that reflects the limestone bedrock beneath. Over time, the wine gains depth and savoury complexity, showing why Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is counted among Burgundy's most significant sites. This is Faiveley's flagship Grand Cru and a benchmark for collectors seeking longevity and authenticity in Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Domaine Faiveley
Domaine Faiveley is a family wine producer and négociant in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Established by Pierre Faiveley in 1825, initially as a wine merchant, today Faiveley produces their own wines and is also négociants buying wine and fruit from other producers and growers. The domaine is run by 7th generation Erwan Faiveley and the estate now owns 120 ha of vineyards throughout Burgundy. They have 10 ha of Grand Cru vineyard parcels including Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Clos de Vougeot, and Echezeaux among others. Many parcels are less than 1 ha yielding only tiny quantities of wines. Domaine Faiveley also has 25 ha of Premier Cru vineyards spread through the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.
