About this wine

Domaine Faiveley Les Referts 1er Cru Puligny Montrachet

Domaine Faiveley's Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru captures a delicate balance between precision and depth. The vineyard lies just below Meursault Charmes, where the limestone and clay soils lend both tension and quiet power. Under Erwan Faiveley's direction, the domaine continues to refine its white winemaking, emphasising vineyard expression through gentle pressing, natural fermentation, and maturation in French oak, around one-third of which is new.

Les Referts offers a pure and structured style of Puligny, typically showing notes of white stone fruit, citrus, and crushed rock. The palate brings breadth without weight, with discreet oak support and a saline finish that reflects its terroir. With age, it develops layers of almond and hazelnut, gaining texture and complexity without losing its line. This is a serious, cellar-worthy white Burgundy from one of the Côte d'Or's most disciplined producers.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Domaine Faiveley
Domaine Faiveley is a family wine producer and négociant in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Established by Pierre Faiveley in 1825, initially as a wine merchant, today Faiveley produces their own wines and is also négociants buying wine and fruit from other producers and growers. The domaine is run by 7th generation Erwan Faiveley and the estate now owns 120 ha of vineyards throughout Burgundy. They have 10 ha of Grand Cru vineyard parcels including Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Clos de Vougeot, and Echezeaux among others. Many parcels are less than 1 ha yielding only tiny quantities of wines. Domaine Faiveley also has 25 ha of Premier Cru vineyards spread through the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.
