Henri Germain, Meursault

Henri Germain is a respected name in Meursault, with holdings across some of the village’s most recognised lieux-dits. The domaine, now run by Jean-François Germain, farms around eight hectares, with Chardonnay from sites including Charmes, Perrières, and Poruzots. These parcels are renowned for their ability to reflect the site, and the winemaking process allows that detail to come through. Fermentation occurs in oak, utilising a combination of new and older barrels, and élevage typically extends to 18 months or more. No bâtonnage is used, and the wines are bottled with minimal fining and filtration.

Each year, the wines exhibit a firm line of acidity and finely structured fruit, with aromas often falling within the citrus and white stone fruit spectrum. There’s typically a savoury character and a restrained richness that builds in the glass. Henri Germain’s Meursaults are known to age well..
