Domaine Jamet, Cote-Rotie

Domaine Jamet crafts Côte-Rôtie from over twenty distinct parcels perched on steep, schistous slopes in Ampuis. Winemaker Jean-Paul Jamet focuses on precise blending to capture the entirety of the appellation, relying on old vines across the northern hillsides to build complexity and natural balance.

Traditional methods define the winemaking. Fermentation features a high proportion of whole clusters, preserving raw structure and freshness. Maturation spans roughly twenty-two months in oak, using a conservative fifteen per cent new wood to let individual site character remain the primary focus.

Expect aromas of crushed black pepper, violet, smoked meat, and olive tapenade. The palate consistently delivers vivid red berries, savoury herbs, fine-grained tannins, and a saline, granite-driven finish that ensures exceptional longevity in the cellar.
