DOMAINE JEROME GALEYRAND Cuvee Alligotay , Bourgogne Blanc 2019 Bottle
About this wine
Born and bred in the Loire, Jérôme Galeyrand came to Burgundian winemaking later in life from a career in cheese. He has forged his own path since, crafting stunning Burgundy on a small scale. His ‘Alligotay’ is a textural, rich expression of Burgundy’s third great grape–Aligoté.??
As with all of Galeyrand’s wine, it is certified organic and produced biodynamically. With marzipan and tropical nuances on the palate, this is refreshing and moreish.

Expert Review
Neal Martin
The 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté is made with purchased fruit grown in Rully. It has a straightforward bouquet of lime flower and light pear aromas. The palate is well balanced with a malic entry, good acidity and a taut, saline finish. Moderate length. This should drink well for 2–4 years.
(86-88) points, Vinous (October 2020)

Green and yellow colour with happy expressive ripe but fresh fruit, touch of plums, grassy too. Lovely finish. Sourced from Marsannay and Echevronne, along with lower slope purchases.
88 points, Inside Burgundy (March 2021)

Archetypal. Lemon curd, beeswax and high voltage saline acidity, toned by the warmth and expansive girth marking the year. Great apero sort of gear. Delicious Aligoté!
