Domaine Marc-Antonin Blain is a rising name in Burgundy, though its roots run deep. Marc-Antonin is the son of Jean-Marc Blain of Domaine Blain-Gagnard, and he farms small, family-owned parcels in Chassagne-Montrachet with meticulous care. His tiny holding in Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, barely a tenth of a hectare, lies just below Bâtard itself, producing minute quantities of this Grand Cru. The vines are mature, and yields are kept low. Fermentation and ageing take place in French oak, a portion of which is new, with careful bâtonnage and minimal intervention to retain precision and energy.
