Réserve des Deux Frères is the flagship Châteauneuf-du-Pape of Domaine Pierre Usseglio, drawn from very old-vine Grenache on some of the estate’s choicest parcels across varied galet-strewn and sandy soils. Fermented in concrete then raised 12–15 months in barrel, with a high proportion of new oak, it marries dense black fruit, liquorice, garrigue and smoky spice with a plush but firm structure built for long cellaring. In top vintages such as 2007, 2015 and 2020 it has earned mid-to-high 90s from leading Rhône critics and sits comfortably among the most highly rated wines of the appellation, offering Australian buyers a serious Southern Rhône statement to pour now after a long decant or to tuck away for well over a decade.
