About this wine
Domaine Prieuré Roch Premier Cru Reserve Chambertin Clos de Beze , Gevrey-Chambertin
Domaine Prieuré Roch holds a distinct position in Burgundy. Established in 1988 by the late Henry-Frédéric Roch, former co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, the estate is defined by rigorous organic viticulture and traditional methods. Its parcel in Clos de Bèze contains vines up to a century old, planted on steep, well-drained limestone slopes in Gevrey-Chambertin.
Winemaking is strictly natural. The wine is made by whole-bunch fermentation in open wooden vats, with no added sulphur or synthetic additives. Winemakers perform punch-downs manually, followed by extended maturation on fine lees in French oak barrels. Bottling happens by gravity, without fining or filtration.
The perfume opens with dark cherries, crushed violets, dried rose petals, and exotic spice. The palate delivers concentrated wild raspberry, blood orange, game, and fine forest floor, supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and direct acidity.
