ABOUT THE WINERY

By Farr & Farr Rising

Farr Rising was originally the label of Nick Farr, son of the legendary Gary Farr, founder of the By Farr label. (And if that’s not confusing enough, one of their vineyards is named Farrside!) Anyway, in 2013, father and son merged their businesses and Farr Rising became a ‘second label’ (to By Farr), indicating wines made wholly or partly from bought-in rather than estate-grown fruit. Gary and Nick are both best known for Geelong Region Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, though there is also a By Farr Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir (from Merricks).
