Feathered Friends Heathcote Shiraz Cabernet
an undeniably powerful wine, born from Heathcote’s ancient Cambrian soils. A ferrous whiff, the regional tattoo. A swirl of darker fruit accents, baking spice, liquorice back-strap, molten kirsch and iodine, too. Yet the Cabernet, while the underling in the blend, evinces a savoury authority, a gentle verdant whiff and a welcome frame of plush tannins, keeping the melee on the straight and narrow. A plume of saline freshness at the back end drives the length.
