About this wine
A superb value wine, Fox by JB is Foxes Island entry level Pinot Noir. The grapes are sourced from the Belsham Awatere Estate and from select sustainably certified vineyards, which provide fruit specifically for Foxes Island in Marlborough. The harvested fruit is de-stemmed and cold soaked for 12 days prior to fermentation in open top fermenters. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels for 10 months before blending and bottling.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Foxes Island
John Belsham founded Foxes Island in 1992 on the Wairau Plains. Searching for a premium site for Pinot Noir he discovered a 20-hectare Awatere property in 1998, naming it Belsham Awatere Estate. The property has seven distinct terraces with exceptional soil profiles, planted primarily to Pinot Noir, with select blocks dedicated to Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. Complete dedication to quality both in the vineyard and winery, together with John’s considerable winemaking talent ensures that Foxes Island produces some of the most compelling and expressive wines in Marlborough. A second range of wines made for earlier drinking called Fox by JB is also produced.
