Founded in 1988 by Barrie Smith and Judi Cullam, Frankland Estate sits in the remote Frankland River region of the Great Southern. This vertical collection represents the pinnacle of the estate's red winemaking, produced only in exceptional vintages. The fruit is sourced from the original Winery Block within the organically certified Isolation Ridge vineyard, where ancient ironstone gravel soils impart a distinct regional signature. Winemaker Brian Kent ferments the small parcels gently using whole berries, often including a traditional small addition of Viognier, before maturation in French oak. This selection highlights long-term cellaring value and evolutionary structure.
