Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio’s Scudetto Barbera d’Alba DOC is an emblematic wine from one of Piedmont’s most respected family estates. The Mascarello name is best known for Barolo, yet their Barbera has long carried a loyal following thanks to its depth and consistency. The fruit is sourced from estate vineyards around Monforte d’Alba and Castiglione Falletto, where Barbera thrives in limestone-rich soils. In the cellar, Mauro Mascarello works with traditional methods: fermentation in concrete, followed by ageing in large Slavonian oak botti. This approach preserves the grape’s natural freshness while allowing structure to emerge with clarity. Each vintage, the Scudetto delivers a nose of red cherry, plum, and subtle dried herbs, supported by a savoury undertone.
