Heirloom Vineyards crafts its flagship A'lambra Shiraz as a deliberate homage to traditional Barossa viticulture, sourcing fruit from old, hand-tended vines in top-tier sites. The intention is simple: capture the purity and longevity of old-vine Barossa Shiraz without the heavy, over-extracted oak profile that once dominated the region.

Winemaker Elena Brooks selects grapes bunch by bunch before natural open fermentation. Gentle basket pressing preserves pristine fruit structure, then the wine matures in French oak barriques from bespoke coopers. This hands-off approach lets the native fruit lead while building fine-grained structure.

The nose delivers dark plum, blackberry, and aniseed alongside notes of mint, cedar, and subtle ironstone earthiness. On the palate, concentrated black fruit combines with crisp acidity and chalky, fine-grained tannins, giving the wine balance, poise, and long cellaring potential.
