Henriques & Henriques’ Garrafeira Sercial is a rare, vintage-dated expression from one of Madeira’s reference houses, drawn from top Sercial parcels and aged for decades in cask before long bottle rest, effectively the estate’s grand cru for the driest style of the island. In benchmark vintages such as 1964 and 1971 it shows piercing acidity wrapped around flavours of roasted almond, citrus peel, vanilla fudge, green lemon and wet earth, with a savoury, saline edge and a finish that runs for minutes.
