Hewitson Cask 66 Shiraz is a special release crafted by Dean Hewitson at his Barossa Valley winery, named for its address at 66 Seppeltsfield Road. Each year, the team selects standout parcels of Shiraz from estate and trusted growers, maturing the wine for 18 months in carefully chosen French oak casks.
This meticulous barrel selection results in a wine that balances Barossa richness with poise and length. The nose offers layers of ripe plums, blackberries, chocolate, aniseed, and violets, with hints of smoked meat, tobacco, and coffee. On the palate, expect depth and complexity: black fruits, soy, cloves, and a touch of black pepper, all wrapped in supple tannins and fine acidity. The finish is long and harmonious, with subtle oak integration and a savoury twist.
