INGLENOOK Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2023 Bottle
About this wine
Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Inglenook stands as a founding pillar of Napa Valley, established in 1879 by Gustave Niebaum and later restored to its historic footprint by Francis Ford Coppola. Anchored in the prime bale loam soils of the Rutherford bench, the estate benefits from warm days and cool evening drafts off the Mayacamas Mountains.
The wine is crafted predominantly from organically farmed estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaking focuses on precision batch selection, utilising gravity-flow methods and ageing in French oak barrels, roughly half of which are new. This barrel regimen frames the fruit without dominating its natural character.
Consistent across vintages, the nose opens with cassis, dark plum, graphite, and subtle cedar. The palate delivers concentrated blackberry and red fruit, underpinned by the region's classic cocoa-powder tannic structure. Crisp natural acidity ensures a fresh, persistent finish built for cellaring.
